Are there training sessions or climbing classes?
We have children and junior training classes for children that are members of the club.
There is weekly trainings for children aged 8-14 for both beginners and experienced, and for juniors aged 14-18, for both beginners and experienced.
Children and junior classes run for half a year with new sessions starting in January and August. You need to enroll for each class after every season.
The classes follow Aalborg Municipality’s school holidays.
The club does not offer training sessions for adults. However, some club members do provide training by arrangement with the board. Information about this will be posted on Facebook.
Community and club trips
All year round we have parties and social gatherings in the club and all members are welcome.
Each Spring we arrange a beginners trip where several of the club’s instructors join. The location for the beginners trip is always abroad because there are rocks to climb.
During the holiday of the Ascension of Christ (Kristi Himmelfartsferie), the children and junior teams have a climbing trip along with their families.
Family climbing
Every Saturday between 9 and 12 AM, Aalborg Klatreklub host family climbing time where we encourage bringing your children with you when climbing.
There is no coach, instructor, or training during this period — it is simply a time frame dedicated to families and children to climb together and have fun with climbing.
All members are allowed to climb during this time. However, please note that the climbing might need to be adapted, as children may be running around on the mats.
No sign-up needed. Just show up and enjoy sharing the climbing experience with your family and children.
Solsikketid or “Sunflower” sessions
Every Tuesday between 8:30 and 10:30 AM, Aalborg Klatreklub hosts “sunflower” sessions where we open the club up for children and young adults with hidden and invisible disabilities.
During this time, the music is off, and an instructor is available. There are no “fixed” classes - rather it is a chance to experience climbing in a calm and relaxed setting.
If it sounds like something you or your child you be interested in, please contact our club host Malte either or mail: driftsleder@aalborgklatrkelub.dk or telephone: (0045) 71791120 Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM.
All members are allowed to climb during this time. However, please be aware there is no music during this time. Additionally, we kindly ask all other climbers to be considerate and mindful during the “sunflower” session.
