Guest climbing

What is guest climbing?

Guest climbing is mainly intended for visitors from other clubs who are staying in Aalborg for a short period of time.

If you’re a first-time climber and want to give climbing a try, you can also use guest climbing. However, it’s important to know that you’ll be on your own — there’s no instruction or introduction to climbing or the club’s facilities included. That’s why we recommend setting up an arrangement with a club member or the club host to show you around and give you an introduction to the club and climbing. You can post a request for a club member to show you around on Facebook.

Payment

Day pass
A day pass costs 75 DKK and is paid via our MobilePay* account: 747620. If you do not have Mobilepay, you can ask a member if they will Mobilepay for you if you can give them 75 DKK or €10 in cash.
You can guest climb up to 10 times per year.
*Mobilepay is a Danish mobile payment app.

Guest agreement
If you’re a member of a climbing club under Klatring Danmark’s guest arrangement, you can use our facilities for free. This option can be used up to 5 times per year.

Guest climbing with a member
If you’re a club member and want to bring friends or family, you can buy day passes for your guests at 50 DKK per person. You can pay by suing our Mobilepay account: 747620.

NOTE: There may be checks in the club asking for proof of payment. If you can’t show proof, you’ll be asked to leave immediately.

  • As a guest climber, you’re free to climb in all the bouldering areas. Rope climbing in the rope hall is only allowed if you’re climbing with a member who’s certified to belay you on top rope — you’re not allowed to belay top rope yourself, lead climb, or lead belay without a valid belay certificate. You’re also not allowed to use the club’s auto-belays unless you’re with a member who holds a valid belay certificate.

If you do have a valid belay certificate — or if you’re visiting from abroad and have learned to lead climb and belay outdoors — you’ll need to check in with one of our instructors or the club host. They’ll assess whether your climbing aligns with Klatring Danmark’s recommendations.

  • Our club is open 24/7 but our door is always locked and requires a key to open. All members of Aalborg Klatreklub has their own key. You can try and set up an arrangement with a member on our Facebook.

  • Our door is locked and requires a key chip to open, so you’ll need to ask a member to let you in. You can find someone to go with you through the club’s Facebook. If you want to guest climb on a weekday between 8 AM and 3 PM, you can arrange it with our club host.
